Every command needs a threat readout. A number, a gauge, a sense of how bad it is out there. Most games give you one and let you trust it.
This one gives you a number you can trust - and quietly withholds the reason you should not feel safe.
The global threat now runs on two values.
The first is what you have discovered: confirmed activity, assessed and logged. This is the figure on your readout. It is honest. It is also incomplete.
The second is what is actually happening. It is not displayed. It is not dimmed, redacted in the interface, or buried in a menu you can dig into. It is held behind a boundary the readout cannot cross. There is no field for it on your side of the line. Nothing to leak, because nothing is sent.
You are not being kept in suspense by the interface. You are being kept on the correct side of a wall.
A threat you can fully see is a threat you can plan around. Complacency is the failure state this design exists to prevent. The gap between what you know and what is true is not a number we forgot to show you - it is the space where the campaign turns on you.
Closing that gap is the work. Intelligence. Investigation. Paying attention to what does not add up. Knowledge here is earned, not granted. You will not be handed the full picture. You will assemble it, late, and sometimes too late.
The redaction on these transmissions has always been aesthetic. This is the first system where it is also true.
What you are allowed to know and what is actually the case are now two separate quantities - enforced by the architecture, not by our discretion. The wall is real. We could not show you the other number if we wanted to.
You will always know something. You will rarely know everything. Act accordingly.
Development continues. Next transmission when there is something worth transmitting.
